About Us

For 40 years David Campiche and Laurie Anderson (husband and wife team) ran the Shelburne Inn, Restaurant & Pub, which was established in 1896 and has a long-standing tradition of providing excellent hospitality and food to the traveling public. They passed the torch of running that business in 2018. They purchased China Beach Retreat in Ilwaco in 1998 and ran that business until the end of 2020. All the while, David Campiche has been a potter. He continues to create pieces at his home studio, where he throws pots and builds sculptures and fires them in his own kiln, or in the Astoria Dragon Kiln.
