Aimee, I am sorry to here of your troubles. I didn't read through everyone's response but years ago I worked at a furniture store and I brought the retired lazy boy swatches home and my mother made like fabric bags. She also donated to the churches and I would think that you should look into local quilting groups. She is nuts they go to retreats, quilt stores and they are always buying fabric for their hobby, I hope this gives you some different avenues and inspiration!
