Definitely more networking and support within each other's industries. Networking and word of mouth are great ways to attain new business, as well as helping out a fellow local business owner. We need to rally around each other and work together. There is no reason we should be competing with one another within a local community- there should be support for all of our local businesses. And I also agree that there should be more local networking and support available. A Local Business Network & Support Meeting might be a good way to get things rolling, as well as allow us to really introduce ourselves and our businesses!
