True essential services are not going to fail. If we were not so dependent on large corporations (who took industries overseas in the first place) we would have an economy that could be revived. Our whole economy is based on services that people can do themselves, if they weren't servicing...

True essential services are not going to fail. If we were not so dependent on large corporations (who took industries overseas in the first place) we would have an economy that could be revived. Our whole economy is based on services that people can do themselves, if they weren't servicing someone else. That may break down. But people can grow their own food, be healthier, not need doctors and figure things out for themselves AND help one another. The greed of corporations and landholders is imploding the system. We have to call things out as they are. People are not being hired and too many companies want to pay essential services with minimum pay. Remove health insurance from jobs and so much will flourish and owners will adjust their expectations of profit - based on value of what is provided and not off the backs of workers or what they can get from clients/consumers.
I don't ask if people are vaxxed. If people choose not have a mask, I ask them to stay away. If someone gets too close and they can't behave - I will press charges. I request that they wear a mask and if they don't want to, the person next in the queue is taken.

Due to the misinformation from all sides on this issue, there are people who I know have personal protocols that many others don't have. I see so many people taking positions based on inaccurate information; the inaccuracies from so many points of view is the real danger.
It is so strange that the miracle-pill is made by the same company that made one of the therapies that is being used around the world but in USA the full story is not being told. So much misinformation via the withholding of information - this is why people are defying the protocols.
As a digit head, I know, 'science' is all about probabilities. BUT! the assumptions are not being discussed, control of the population's behavior is. And people are dying. And people are profiting, and people with money to hedge their exposure are participating in communications where people without money are taking undue risk.
As a tax person, uhm - not all employers hiring 'contract' workers are fair. I think there is more to a law than 2 sentences and regulations and exceptions are part of the implementation. People, especially the young, the naive and the inexperienced get hosed all the time. Painful to see....

We need to go forward and recover from the devastation of the 80's.

I agree with the majority of the replies here. I don't care if 20% of the recipients are actually taking advantage of the situation, (I don't think anyone is) but with so many people trying to wait this out for the health of themselves and their families - these type of statements show a disconnect with the reality of the situation and possibly with other people. People who make these statements may simply be upset, or, may not be good employers, good citizens, good people, good investors, good leaders or policy makers because they cannot consider the lives and well being of people who they count on for their own pockets. If anything this situation has done, it has created a reality where survival requires self-love and self-dignity over the US dollar.

Remember file if you have the info; extend with as much payment as you can if you do not have the info - and do it online with Direct Pay. If you have a problem with the IRS Direct Debiting an account - open a special account. This helps because there is a computer generated and automated history you can show your payments. It is a pain to get cancelled checks with transaction numbers for proof.
Filing is a communication to the IRS. It is the non-communication that amps up the risk.
