Do the best job you can for your clients. Always treat them with respect and let them knows they are important to you. Then they will try to help you if the opportunity comes up. Ask for referrals when appropriate.

If done properly, almost everyone likes a personal letter speaking of items of interest such as: saving time or money and better service. No form letters in this effort that causes your info to be trashed with the junk mail. I have even received phone calls or e-mails soon after these letters arrive. The U.S. mail technique is old school but it works for me.
