With all the options available on the internet, it is important you create a niche where you have an advantage. All of us can buy tickets on sites that compare flights, hotels, and cars. Other sites tell us the best places to eat. To be a success, you will need to create a value proposition that tells everyone what you bring that is better than what the websites offer. One thing that can help is to ask satisfied former customers. What did they get from you that they could not get elsewhere? Once you have that value proposition, you will know what to say and to whom to say it to get the new customers you need.

Reach out to your network and tell them exactly the skills you bring to the table that are most important. A number of years ago, a friend of a friend had a business they had built from scratch to a million dollar income. Just as they put the business up for sale, their General Manager left. A mutual friend knew that I had been laid-off from my job managing six departments for a Fortune 100 company. Most importantly, I was already knowledgeable and certified in her friends business niche. The mutual friend put us in touch, and I successfully ran the company until its sale eighteen months later. I got the best temp job of my life, the business never lost a step, and the owners were largely absent from the day-to-day running of the business.
We have had the best success by offering things that our community, rather than our center, most wants. The more money you can raise from outside your congregation, the more willing the congregation will be to offer the goods and services to raise that money.

I think, for most, there is a difference. Being religious usually means following the dogma of some organization. For instance, if you are Catholic, you believe in original sin, that Jesus cleansed you from that sin by his death, etc. Being spiritual generally means you follow some path of your own choosing, deciding for yourself what you believe and what you do not, and acting in accordance with those beliefs. There are also combinations. I belong to a "new thought" church. Hardly any dogma and lots of freedom to decide for yourself, but the added bonus of having a community of fellow travelers who believe much as you do, and that support you on your path. Just my opinion, of course.
