PC Electronics was setup in 1992 as a networking, computer building, and service business. During the early year PCE filled a niche market of small office's 2 to 3 PC's networks. PCE was the first to introduce peer to peer networks to the springfield area bypassing the novell networks this was even before winows had networking functionality and before ethernet. When I started the only option was cable and BNC connectors at the point the only to protocol options were IPX/SPX and netbeui, IP was unheard of and most WAN communications was done by dialup modem. PC Electronics was the only build from scratch computer store and had picked up a store front in 1993 at 1605 so MacArthur blvd. In 1994 PC Electronics started Warpnet communications with a bank of 2 14.4k modems and a 56k ISDN connection through a cisco 2500 series rouer to the internet and 2 nt 3.51 servers. Then watch Warpnet go through boom to bust. Things sure have changed through the years now my focus is back on the main company PCE entering back into the ever changing world of computers. in 2007 PCE focus changed to Laptops while watching the demise of the PC. Follonig back on the fundimaentals of soldering PCE became the only place in the area at the to get power jacks repaired even til recently and we are the only place to get board level repair thru infared soldering. We now specialize in the fining laptop with dead video and virus removal. PCE has really taken off again for a big future.
