I don’t think that artists really have competition. We are each unique and express ourselves in our own way. I always feel weird talking to strangers, asking them about their business while subtly trying to introduce your business. I don’t think that I ever met a customer at a networking event. I would love to partner with other business; but have not had the opportunity, except for galleries and museums. I am an artist, and most retail spaces don’t have from for my pieces. I have made many connections on LinkedIn, but it has not led to any sales. Most of the time marketing companies just try to sell me their services. Maybe it is not a great platform for artists.
