✈That sums up the results from my first crew: I was failing as a leader. My crew was uninspired, not making progress, didn’t work together - I could go on - it was NOT pretty!

I searched for a solution - I tried books, courses, & workshops - they all told me WHAT a good leader should be. Most of them provided lists of things that sounded great! But…as I tried them I became even MORE frustrated!

✈ Until I had a crazy thought (inspired by my time as an Air Force flyer), “Could there be something similar in getting an aircraft or organization “off the ground” & to its desired destination?”

✈That crazy thought became an epiphany that resulted in the tools we use to help good people become great leaders - we show them not just what but HOW!

In that vein, we work with leaders who take seriously their role in developing the leaders within their organization. In the beginning of our relationship, many do not believe they have the time or the ability to effectively develop those leaders in-house. Knowing how vital it is to connect leader development to the culture and unique situation faced by each organization, we help them perform ROI calculations on previously outsourced programs. Realizing the minimal return, they are open to "testing" our in-house process & system. At set points, we measure ROI again. Watching their obvious satisfaction, confidence, boost to alignment, and cultural improvement makes all the upfront work worth it! I love helping good people become great leaders because of the sense of clarity and purpose it provides those with whom I work!

(more) Think of the organizations with which you’ve been a part…were they filled with mostly good people…but the results just didn’t match the organization’s potential? What could they have accomplished if…every leader…had been competent, compassionate, & collaborated to achieve the desired vision? My Ideal Clients are leaders of leaders; they have big vision and big purpose; they take seriously their role to develop their leaders effectively; as such they are committed to True Excellence; and, deep down, they have a sincere desire to Unlock, Engage, & Optimize the potential in their organization. Unfortunately, many of these leaders “outsource” their TRAINING to those who have no connection to the specific needs and issues of their organization. A big reason: they don’t have the time or materials to do it “in house”. Plus, many have been scripted in searching for “lowest cost” instead of “best value”. Do you really believe the “cheapest” TRAINING is going to help you 10x your business in a few years? Obviously not. 1st, I would ensure we have agreement on the definition of what "winning" vs. "losing" means. I've coached a number of teams who outperformed ALL expectations but weren't necessarily "crowned" champions. I'd like to be part of the team that worked hard to fully unlock, engage, and optimize the... (more) 1st, I would ensure we have agreement on the definition of what "winning" vs. "losing" means. I've coached a number of teams who outperformed ALL expectations but weren't necessarily "crowned" champions. I'd like to be part of the team that worked hard to fully unlock, engage, and optimize the potential of each member and the entire team. External rewards can be great but, in my estimation, not nearly as motivating as internal rewards... If, as the leader of a team, I'm considered the "best" on the team, I would question my hiring practices. Wouldn't it be better to attempt to hire the best for each position such that we have a team of winners? If they are better than me in their respective roles, I think we all win! Great question, Chuck!
