Parents are desperate for activities for their kids. Instead of contracting with other organizations, create your own after school events to be held outside on parking lots , park area or other public space. Twice a week ( Friday's and Saturday's) for two hours. Combining music to movement activities for exercise, games that can be done to music and more. You know what to do. Charge for a minimum of four sessions a month. You and the kids can bundle up as needed and when the weather is too bad you cancel. You would have to keep it to a minimum of 10 kids but if done right could provide some income.

I don't know how you wow the industry. When you figure that out let me know. That being said I would include 2 - 5 minute video's from some of your best performances on the site. Let them see you in action. The industry ( if you will) needs to know how they can market you, what is your appeal

As a jazz musician I provide music for a lot of holiday parties. One year I was asked to make it more listenable because according to management the group was a bit out of control last year. IF you have a band, the music definitely can help to table unruly behavior. We played seasonal tunes like "let it Snow" (with an up beat jazz swing)and when the patrons asked for dance able we keep it tame. It worked! So in addition to perhaps a two drink limit consider some classy jazz! Also perhaps providing only wine and champagne may limit some hard drinking.
I would put more time into my product, (my music) working to become more of a musical power house. Growth is always a great time investment!

That's an easy one. People think that musicians should perform for free and that there is little or no work involved in preparing and presenting a performance. Musicians put more time into their craft than doctors! My bass player has been playing for 30 years and can still spend 6 hours a day in...

That's an easy one. People think that musicians should perform for free and that there is little or no work involved in preparing and presenting a performance. Musicians put more time into their craft than doctors! My bass player has been playing for 30 years and can still spend 6 hours a day in practice. The discipline and work involved to survive in this business cannot be overstated! A one hour performance can easily take a minimum of 10 hours of prep time.
