How We Got Started
Computer Doctors Owner Samuel Jacob Lott started providing IT support back in 2001, over the years he has worked with various IT groups & other individuals setting up extensive Networks, Wireless networks, Domain & secure networks, Network programming & more. Back in 2004 Computer Doctors opened its first retail location. Today Tampa Computer Doctors is a growing IT company whose focus is on IT Business Managed Services for Businesses of all sizes. keep in mind as well that you shouldn't get upset at bad reviews. Bad reviews are an excellent way for you to show that your company is willing to work even harder after getting an unhappy customer. There are people out there that complain over nothing and leave a bad review. i used to point out...

There are people out there that complain over nothing and leave a bad review. i used to point out they were being petty or defend my company and it got me no where. i started putting things like, "i apologize everything was not to your liking, please speak to me the owner so i can make things right for you. if we are not aware of a problem than we can't correct it. no company is perfect but please judge us on how we work to earn your business when everything does not go perfectly as that is when a company should work its hardest to earn your business". while some people look at how many perfect reviews you have and go off of that some will click to see why people gave your company a bad review. Fake reviews from other companies or ridiculous customers are easily spotted. when a company vows to work even harder for people like that as well it shows they are a good company worth using.

from a security standpoint wireless is still not as secure. wireless connections between a computer to its wireless keyboard or mouse are not secured in anyway. many home wireless devices are not secured between it and its receiver.

Even wireless with a password without additional encryption can be hacked as it is just a matter of time. While using the latest encryption standards like WPA2 will make it harder for someone to hack your wireless many homes & businesses are very unprotected and could easily have their data, credit cards or other personal data stolen and they may not even realize they were hacked.
to this day I still go out to businesses and see that their passwords are "password" or their company name, zip code or street address.
I go out to doctors offices that have done nothing to meet Hipaa Compliance standards and even fight you when you tell them it is required saying they can't afford it as they are driving away in their brand new $250,000 Mercedes. Many businesses especially health care do not prioritize the privacy of their customers or patients if it costs them money. They choose to believe that because they pay for a program that the program is responsible but the compliance clearly states that they need to secure both the device it is on and the program they are using. Cloud based programs may be secure but the device you are using may not be nor the connection between that device & the internet.
Many wireless alarm systems do not have encryption between the devices & the receiver meaning that someone could use their phone to intercept a signal from a door or window sensor and tell the receiver all is well. While most common thieves are not using this technique it has been reported that several predators have.
Also while unconfirmed I have spoken to a neuro surgeon who will not have anything wireless in his home because he thinks the wireless frequency is affecting us. I told him I have not seen an evidence of it and he responded, "I am a brain expert and I promise you that it is affecting us"
I'm inclined to believe it considering how bad people drive when talking on their cell phone =) my greatest personal pet peeve is people driving side by side by side taking up 2-4 lanes of a highway all going the same speed and usually lower than the speed limit because they are talking on their phones. Do people that use cell phones while driving feel safer when their are cars next to them going the exact same speed and 10 people behind them beeping? Seriously though it is not safe to operate a cell phone while driving, please use Bluetooth!
BTW Bluetooth has no security either. Hackers have an app on their phone that brute force attacks people that have their Bluetooth on and puts a spy program on their phone so they can steal credit card numbers and other personal information. be sure to turn your Bluetooth off when it is not paired and get an antivirus for your phone!

As a business owner that also sells Managed Services plans for IT Services I find that in every field out there is a company offering Managed Services whether its for pools, lawn care, pets, Computers etc. I think people are not informed that:
1. A plan saves the person money on their TCO or Total cost of ownership. Plans also generally include or mostly include all the expenses if the worst happens.
2. Managed Services breaks down the payments into manageable monthly payments.
3. Managed Services helps you spot problems while they are far less expensive to treat & have the best chance of stopping a problem before it becomes far worse (for computers anyway not sure of with pets).
What I find turns people off from Managed Services is they had a bad experience with another person offering a plan that didn't do anything for them. When searching out reputable companies make sure:
1. The company you are choosing has a good reputation, don't trust online reviews as a lot of companies write their own. (if you see 99% of companies with 5 reviews and another company with 100+ they are probably writing them for themselves. (even companies like yelp get tricked, no matter what they claim). Ask your friends and neighbors.
2. If you see a bad review or your friend was upset about a company ask how the company tried to make it right. NO company is perfect and everyone will be happy with every company when everything is going smooth. To me a company that works hard to fix the problem is a company worth staying with. Also, people write their own reviews and write negative reviews of other companies.
