There is absolutely no way our business could provide the service, selection and quality of plants we offer to our customers.  Since all of our plants are hand planted, we would have to eliminate our transplant and service crew and rely on big growers with the robotic auto transplanters.  Unfortunately, they offer less than 20% of the selection of colors and varieties we do.  We would no longer hire high schoolers, or part time seasonal workers (moms who want to work while kids are school, retirees who wish to work 3-4 days and or hrs/day).  Our hourly service rates for installation would go up $20/ hr. because of the multiplier effect of unemployment and workers comp insurance, social security costs and liability insurance.   The government really has no business in establishing minimum wage requirements.
