About Us

Michelle is the founder of www.marketingyourbusiness.ca, a project management marketing consulting company serving small and mid-sized businesses.

With 25 years of experience in Marketing Communications, including twelve years at Xerox Canada, her most client roster includes The Talent Company, ENRg Consulting, Northtown Dental, Centennial College, Imagining Possibilities, Bayview Sheppard RMT and Gift Gowns.

Utilizing valued suppliers from her corporate days. services provided range from part-time marketing roles to specific project management such as website creation, content writing, managing events, and brochure creation. In 2012, Michelle launched getsocialtoday.ca leveraging her marketing and communications experience and understanding that ‘social media is not a fad” getsocialtoday.ca offers business virtual assistance in creating, updating and maintaining their social media sites.

Michelle enjoys her yearly trips to Lakehead University to teach LinkedIn 101 to Masters Students and has also taught at Seneca College in the past. Passionate about “Mother Earth”, she and her husband Kirk, built an ‘eco-home’ in 2011. Their blog details their green journey, starting in July 2007 as well as the media coverage generated as Michelle tried to ‘recycle’ their house in 2009; as she ran a successful community geothermal drilling event in May 2010 and then worked with LEAF for a successful tree planting event in May 2011 which was featured in two newspapers and on CTV news.

Michelle is also a leader in her community and is a Founding Member of the West Willowdale Neighbourhood Association. She was actively involved with WeLoveWillowdale, is a Parent Council Member at Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts. Sher cherishes her time teaching Children's Liturgy with her daughter teenage daughter Ella at St. Gabriel's Church. She is also a founding member of LinkedIn Local North York.
