It is our mission through partnerships with families, churches and the community, to provide a safe home environment, minister the love of Christ, and to equip neglected and abused girls in the foster care system for healthy adult lives
A group of women began volunteering at a local foster care emergency shelter in Tyler (it has since closed down). This shelter cared for girls for up to 90 days while CPS searched for more permanent placement. The women held bible studies, brought meals, did repairs in the building, and loved on the staff. Over time, they discovered there were no long-term placement options for girls with emotional and behavioral issues. They believed there needed to be more done to help these kids from hard places to heal from their trauma, and to be shown the love of Christ in a way that would equip them to become more stable. The idea of Hope Haven was born, and the next several years were spent raising funds, researching, and building a 6500sf home with 16 beds for girls ages 13-17, the most difficult group to find homes for.
Our desire is to help the forgotten adolescents in foster care. Every child deserves a home and hope for their future.
