My wife and I opened a restaurant, with absolutely zero experience. After a few years we questioned why we did that. I had another job and while traveling on a plane to LA I was reading the book 'The Hole in the Gospel'. Our questioned was answered. We opened the restaurant to feed the less fortunate. When I returned home I started a NFP called 'Dignified Dining' where we converted 100% of our profits to coupons that could be redeemed for free food. The coupons were distributed through the local food pantry. We fed over 3,000 people our first year.
