The Tune-Tap is a handheld ECM programmer with a user-friendly interface and step by step wizard that walks through through the programming process. The Tune-Tap confirms settings during vehicle identification, ECM read and ECM programming to ensure the right programming results are achieved with checksum calculations. This is an extra step to try to mitigate anything being missed in the ECM reprogramming.

All work is done via the diagnostic port of the vehicle being programmed using OBDII, 9 Pin Deutsch or brand specific diagnostic cables. ECM calibration files are then sent to J-Ball Electronics for tuning then sent back to you where you load the new tuning into the ECM at your customers or your earliest convenience. After a copy of the file is taken the machine can still continue with the jobs that they were assigned, meaning the equipment will be able to stay in service until their can be time scheduled to finish the mechanical process.

Everything required to read ECM’s comes in one case so you can throw it in your pickup and head to the field to read trucks and equipment. Each kit comes with the most commonly used cables for truck or off-highway, cables for specific applications are also available.

The Pro-tune Station: the ultimate tuning tool for shops, small fleets and businesses looking to take control of their vehicle’s programming. Advanced ECU/ECM programming accessed through vehicle specific diagnostic connections or directly on the circuit board.

This station does need a clean dust free area that could be designated for ECM reprogramming as the pieces used for the connections are very fragile. The area would need to be away from traffic area’s if anything was to bump the ECM it could cause damage to the unit as a whole.

ECM’s do need to be taken off and made the connections on, pins in the harness or making connection’s on the motherboard after opening the ECM fully. ECM’s are typically in the engine bay and when they do not get resealed properly they can get dust, oil, or water for examples and all of those could cause the ECM to fail.
