We are in the friend-raising business, so treat them as you would a good friend. We usually make an initial call, followed up by an email confirming what they are donating. you must also include a due date. Tell everyone you meet your story and why you are so compassionate about it. Connect with local businesses service clubs, schools and churches. get the word out to service clubs, churches, businesses and any other groups that might align with your organization. Whatever you do, start small and do it well. then build on it each year. we started with a dinner/silent auction the first year. Ask local businesses to donate a silent auction...
