How We Got Started

24+ years ago I was in Economic Development. My friends kept telling me I would make a great Realtor. To me it wasn't a job. Then one day (not much later) I made the "Leap" and its been the work I have loved ever since. Meeting amazing people helping them sell and move to their next destination or finding that buyer the PERFECT home for them and their family= PRICELESS!

PS it isn't a job-- it's what I was meant to do.

If it was mandatory they live in an expensive area-- I would suggest speaking to a lender on a reverse mortgage. Half down and no P&I only taxes and insurance. They could live here with that income with a reverse. BUT need money down.

No foundations. If you don't have these and don't know them how can you expect your employees to have a vision for your business -- they are doing a job just like you, day in and day out.   From employees to clients -living the core values, their vision within your vision and how they fit in your business, having fun, communicating to other team members, asking clients good questions to find out how to better serve the client, client appreciation, etc....  Many employers are great at starting up businesses and then they fail to run them. They do the job - day in and day out and so do the people that work for them.  No amount of money can help you without foundations and personal growth-- Not in this day and age (the days of bullying bosses is over and a matter of time before they are gone). There's a lot of knowledge at people's fingertips and they know there are employers who value and invest in their team members.

In RE we are SO well connected there is not much that I can't help people with and or find that resource for them REALLY quickly. No pitching ever here. Period.

Employee input= Value, team, giving ownership of ideas, growth and SO much more.  I.e. what are meetings for? It's a round-tabling of ideas to come out with company goals to move forward and create success for both the employer and employee. The Team.   (more) Employee input= Value, team, giving ownership of ideas, growth and SO much more.  I.e. what are meetings for? It's a round-tabling of ideas to come out with company goals to move forward and create success for both the employer and employee. I am not sure how someone who steals for more than a decade--- number one can get away with it and secondly how can he be a benefit to students, or anyone in his current state. Stop him in his tracks now. I would not enable his thievery any longer. He knows you know. He puts you in a horrible... I just ask. BUT I don't like just the "yes" answer (that's what everyone says to easily) = I try to get them to talk to me so I work on my questions and cont. to work on them all the time. More along the lines of "How do you feel about referring me to your family and friends"? Then I SHUT UP... (more) I just ask. More along the lines of "How do you feel about referring me to your family and friends"? Then I SHUT UP (biggest mistake it to keep talking) and let them talk. You have to get them to reset and wrap their heads around what you are asking-- a "Yes or No" will not do it. As soon as you hang up that phone or walk out the door-- they have forgot you. Have fun working on your questions that get you more than YES OR NO!! Remember get them to "reset" and listen to you and let them say it out loud. That commits -- then your work to follow up begins. :)

Marketing too. It takes a lot of time, creativity and resources. For those in RE for yrs and it's a career we plan on staying in-- it's hard work all the time and consistency is the key + persistent + staying educated and updated. BUT--- it's what I love!! Helping other people find THEIR home or help them move to their next destination====== Priceless!

Human nature is we are ALL looking for an end benefit -- no matter what it looks like to you. BUT, be genuinely you (bc it's hard to be someone else), listen, make sure your client/customer gets exactly what they are looking for "world class service" and Boom!! Success will be yours in more... (more) Human nature is we are ALL looking for an end benefit -- no matter what it looks like to you. Success will be yours in more ways than one. Use the law of reciprocity and you will always do well-- personally and professionally. "Give to give, not get". BTW-- if you do want to be someone else -- "Be Batman" -- he's pretty cool! And people generally like him a lot! --kids too :):)
