Dotti Howe is a neurodiversity-affirming clinician and mental health content creator. Dotti specializes in ADHD & Autism and provides parents with strategies to become attachment-focused and foster healthy parent-child relationships. Parents gain insight into the harmful practices that exacerbate children's mental health wellness and are taught connected approaches that help children feel safe and supported.
Also, Dotti is an addiction expert and utilizes *evidence-based* treatment that supports those who are addicted, including family consultation. Studies have concluded that autistic & ADHD individuals have twice the risk as neurotypicals to develop substance-use disorder. Whereas, Autistic/ADHD individuals, which commonly co-occur, have an even greater risk.
My mission is to help parents feel confident in their parenting through education and promote and enrich the lives of children where they feel inspired to reach their personal goals that feel good.
Additionally, I support survivors of institutional child abuse. Raising awareness of the dangers and issues within the Troubled Teen Industry, Long-Term Care Facilities, Foster Care, and the Education System advocating for reform and change.
Thousands of kids every year are held captive in behavior modification programs, foster homes, developmentally disabled services, long-term care facilities, boot camps, therapeutic boarding schools, wilderness camps, religious retreats, and rehabs for the sole purpose of profit. There is zero government oversight, leaving vulnerable children experiencing various forms of abuse such as starvation, forced labor, neglect, isolation, sexual assault, psychological abuse, humiliation, fear, conversion, religious abuse, physical abuse, and pseudoscience resulting in harm.

After years of working with at-risk youth in long-term care, the foster care systems, supporting developmentally disabled children/adults, and working within the education system both personally and professionally, I've identified these system's practices as acutely ableist. I am proactive in unlearning harmful theories that are readily taught within the state and non-profit sectors that are meant to keep those struggling and dependent on their services for financial gain, thus remaining oppressed. Additionally, I use my extensive experience helping parents gain insight into the harmful practices that they may have learned and reteach connected approaches that improve the parent-child relationship.
