Joe Ruth, God bless him, was a famous railroad engineer who came out of retirement to work on the project. During a meeting that I did not attend he said that I had " half a brain". The next day the guys in the shop could hardy wait to tell me what he had said. Apparently it was the nicest thing they had heard him say about anyone. Everyone who worked on the railroad at some time would get a far away look on their face and say " I love the railroad" now theirs a recommendation.                        Walter Hollien Preservation Architect

you know you have mold, you can see it, the important thing is to correct whatever is causing the mold. i.e. roof leak, water leak, damp basement, not enough ventilation. walter hollien architect/ home inspections (more) you know you have mold, you can see it, the important thing is to correct whatever is causing the mold. i.e. roof leak, water leak, damp basement, not enough ventilation. walter hollien architect/ home inspections

(more) yes a closer look as you say would require that the gas or oil be turned on and thermostat be in working order. sometimes we find the interior of the duct work lined with asbestos. what could be worse than that. a complete inspection by a real professional of the ac, heating system & electrical system should cost $500. now if some one is charging $350 (there are prices lower than that) for a complete home inspection what are you getting? additionally only a licensed architect & or engineer can legally provide a structural inspection in nys. if a home inspector see something wrong structurally he will recommend that you consult an engineer. walter hollien architect / residential & commercial building inspections
