What I think are important to include in a business open house- Employees with smiles, introduction of employees who are present, business cards, beverages, light treats, a take-a-long sheet that identifies your services and company information, show & tell display samples of your products, a brief thank you for attending and an opportunity for visitors to ask questions.
I guess it would be the time I had and order held at the UPS terminal, 30 miles away, then picked it up at 6:00 A.M. and delivered it to a client myself because the UPS delivery would have been to late in the day for the clients A.M. event.
