About Us

Greater Springfield Habitat for Humanity (GSHFH) builds strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. We build decent, affordable housing.

A GSHFH home is not a gift. Through volunteer labor, donations of money and materials, Habitat is able to help qualifying families obtain a home of their own with an affordable mortgage.

GSHFH partners with people in our community, to help them build, or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes, or repair their homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With your support, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families.

GSHFH believes homeownership is a crucial foundation for any family. By moving out of substandard housing and into a Habitat home, homeowners and their families become more likely to improve their health, attain a better education, and increase their safety and personal wealth.
