I think most of it's a waste of money and time. I spend my time marketing my business and my customers businesses. We use word-of-mouth marketing, networking, LinkedIn, and referral groups. But this is just the start. If you get a referral and they want to do research on you... you better make sure that your website explains exactly what it is that you do and that you have blogs and 3rd party reviews on there that show that you're good at what you do instead of just telling people that you're good at what you do. You need to take all those blogs and tips posts and trends posts and add them to your social media. You need to make sure that you distribute all that content monthly with your e-newsletter and eblasts. My customers use my internet present package... https://main-street-marketing....  It it gives them everything they need to market themselves online so when an opportunity or a prospect is available, their online marketing will help them close the deal. If prospects can't get what they want from your marketing then they'll just go down the list to the next company until they get what they want. It's  why so many small businesses don't get a chance at the negotiating table. It's because they're missing this step. The phone doesn't ring and the inbox doesn't fill and they just sit back and wonder why. People want to know 80% about you and your business before they do business with you. If they can't then they'll just move on.

Prove It!  Use blogging and video to create featured work posts that you share on your site, on social media, on your email marketing. And make sure you get online reviews consistently. B2B needs online reviews also. This along with educational blogs, social media, search engine optimization, and email marketing will get you where you want to be. Let a marketing professional help do it all for you with your input. You do what you do well and let them do what they do well. All you need is an admin or coordinator that can collect the self shot videos, pictures, use the online reviews system, and bit more.

An Internet Presence is a cost of doing business these days. You have to have a website, you have to blog, you have to search engine optimize your site, you need to have email marketing, and you need to get online reviews. Always start there. After that create better content, find more eyeballs for it, and share it correctly. Create a online relationship with people. After the relationship is made, the business will follow. Businesses want to know 80% about you before they want to meet you. If you don't allow them to do this, they will move on to someone else. Nobody has time for endless meetings and phone calls these days. That's not how the game is played anymore. They want to do the research online to find the 3 people they want to meet. Then they pick one of the three they meet to do the job. If you don't have an Internet Presence then you don't get a seat at the table and never get considered for the business. The phone doesn't ring and the inbox doesn't fill. :-(    Learn More... https://main-street-marketing....

Create a business card (start your business). :-) Join a referral group Create a mobile search engine optimized website that can convert prospects into customers Create search engine optimized blogs at least every other week Connect with people on social media who will potentially buy your products and services Add blogs and other updates to social media and continually repost your library of blogs and other content Send an enewsletter of the last 30 days of blogs to all your customers, prospects, and referral partners Send eblasts for specific promotions and updates Create automated email, so that it mails other emails when visitors click on certain things Have an online review system that has campaigns to ask all new customers for a review. Make sure those reviews end up on Google, Facebook, or other important industry specific review sites. Create videos and distribute them on your website and social media and in your blogs If you do this and do it right, online relationships will be built and sales will follow. Your business WILL grow. That all being said, I've never met one company in my 13 years with my marketing business who could do this well in house or on their own. NOT ONE! NEVER! NADA! :-)

We are creating content that lives on their website and push it to their social media sites so that we get search engine optimization and social media awareness at the same time. That month's blogs are also sent as a monthly enewsletter. We also have our clients use an online reviews system that produces good reviews that are posted consistently each week. It all adds up a great Basic Internet Presence for most B2B companies. I would steer clear of most social media only companies who provide what I call "shallow" social media... links to other peoples content. You want to create the content and have links on your social media to learn more on your site. This gets you the awareness that social media provides along with the backlinks and SEO Optimized posts needed to improve your keyword rankings and ultimately your website traffic. If create the right content and have a website that converts well, you'll do well.  Last Thing... Make sure to push your blogs through all the key employee's LinkedIn profiles, where the real power of LinkedIn is.

You need to post it consistently over a long period of time.  It also helps to have exclusive offers and promotions on your social media that your prospects would want to know about and not miss. That will make them want to follow you.  Lastly,  post things that are going to be shared and commented on. This is how you create a relationship with your prospects and get your name spread.  If you do these things, you will be creating relationships. If you have relationships with your prospects those relationships will turn into business.

After their digital marketing is in good shape I use print and direct mail in certain situations. The main thing though is that all the print that we do and all of the direct mail that we do must correspond with what we are doing digitally. We try to move leads we generate from print and direct mail to our online marketing as quick as possible. We can then keep in touch with them through social media and email marketing.
