Teaching traoining skills looks somewhat like a football. At one end people like the material and at the other end they don't but the majority are somewhere in the middle. I try to make the material relevant by finding out in advance the issues that the organization deals with. From that point I shape the material to their needs however you cant please everyone and the football is always there.
I think most companies invest in training their staff however if money is tight generally the first thing to get reduced is training. I have a saying for that which is "pay now or pay later". Usually later is far more expensive when someone hasn't been trained or recertified and makes a mistake...
