About Us
The Mountain Guides Montana is a Whitefish based company that offers avalanche courses through the American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education. Our courses are held in partnership with Great Northern Powder Guides and take place at their remote backcountry yurt located on the Stillwater State Forest. We offer Level 1 Rec. , Level 2 Rec., 8 Hour Rescue , and a 3 day Backcountry Skills and Avalanche Workshop. Our instructors Kenny Gasch and Susan Purvis have over 50 years combined experience and the remote setting and reasonable cost make our programs the best value in avalanche education around.
