In March 1995, I became an anchor for my grandmother in a hospital room. In 2007, I told my other grandmother her child had died.

Those moments change you. They changed me.

Growing up a head-start honey, the youngest of four and only girl, in a car-manufacturing town, I learned that when old rules stop working, you build new ones. I stitched together a life on education and experience—banking, hospice, real estate, telecom—while caregiving, studying, working, and surviving on my own.

I was an Office Manager tired of making my 9-to-5 employer rich with my hive of administrative, bookkeeping, tech, and customer service skills. After one last performance review, I realized it was time to take my own advice — and start buzzing for myself.

From my basement office, armed with a desktop computer and all-in-one HP printer, a cup of coffee, and a whole lot of grit, I launched 1lasteye llc VA services. It gave me the freedom to serve both my family and my clients on my own terms — no gatekeepers, no burnout, just balance.
