About Us
I am a professional photographer that uses additional lighting that most photographers don't have access to in order to take higher quality images. These lights are also powered by a Li Battery, so power sources are never an issue.

I've always enjoyed taking pictures so I finally took the plunge and started doing it full time professionally in 2016.

I've only tried Thumbtack. Very little success on there. Only got one job from it out of 32 quotes/bids. Thankfully I made enough to cover my costs on the one job that I did land, however the time spent on the site wasn't worth it in my opinion. The system favors "pros" with the most reviews, so...

I've only tried Thumbtack. Very little success on there. Only got one job from it out of 32 quotes/bids. Thankfully I made enough to cover my costs on the one job that I did land, however the time spent on the site wasn't worth it in my opinion. The system favors "pros" with the most reviews, so unless you're ready to commit a ton of time to collecting reviews on yet another site, I wouldn't use Thumbtack. I can see it's benefits, but I think you'll need to spend a lot of money to get the jobs and reviews. A good long term project if you're willing to put in the time, but just beware that the price you pay to quote is a little too high in my opinion. It's generally $21+ to bid on a wedding client which is pretty high. Especially if your market is saturated with talented and semi talented part time photographers who work part time and low ball their services.

At a high level, as many planners, catering companies, florists, venues, etc that your budget allows. This would ideally bring in the most leads for you to weed through and pick your clients.
Personally, I only aim to shoot 6 or 7 weddings each year, so I try to be picky about the brides I work...

Personally, I only aim to shoot 6 or 7 weddings each year, so I try to be picky about the brides I work with. I prefer fun couples with moderate budgets that aren't doing a super elegant pintrest wedding. I just gel better with those couples than "country club" type couples (apologies for the stereotyping).
If you're looking to target a certain crowd or client, I'd pick a wedding planner(s) that you align with well and start building a relationship over the next few years to develop a targeted partnership.

Wow, I'm very surprised at the pricing. Seems low (from a photographer side) but great for you or your clients. I also tend to edit/post-process quite a bit so it feels low due to the amount of work I do to my images.

Unless someone takes over/buys another business that's already up and running, I'd bet that most start off with doing some work for friends and friends of friends. It's cheap and an easy way to test the water.

Also, what's your website address? In order to generate business, a website must be easy to navigate and well designed. There are too many options for most customers in most areas, if a site isn't easy to use I go somewhere else immediately.
