As an author and marketer by trade I was blown away to know that the average book sells 87 copies! 87! I almost fell out of my chair. I did just over 12,000 in sales before I stopped and moved onto other things. But then again, I'm a marketing guy by trade, and formerly a club promoter, so I had the tools. Here's a quick list of some of my techniques:

- There will always be some media somewhere that are willing to give you coverage.

- An SEO press release.

- A telling video.

- Actively pushing on social media.

- Book price deals for social sharing.

- Tapping into my personal network.

- Spending the time to join online book clubs.
