About Us

Hello Folks,

My name is Tina Cox and I am currently a resident of Windber, PA. My office is in my home, yet can be found around town at various events and local establishments setup with my Damsel in Defense products. Plus I do online live demos via my facebook biz page and VIP group.

I'm a Mother of 5 and Grandmother of 11. We are a big family that is still growing. My youngest is homeschooled. Very bright young man, extremely caring and willing to help almost anyone, yet does not do well in the traditional classroom.

I love volunteering my time to help others and work with many local non-profit organizations.

Damsel in Defense offers Safety & Defensive products for your home, your auto and your personal carry. Plus we have a children's line, SAFE Heart Defenders, that teaches the young folks to stay safe.

My goal as an Independent Damsel Pro14950 is to Empower as many people as I can through sharing safety/defense teaching/tips I've gained, introducing Professional Self-Defense Instructors and Damsel in Defense products.

I am now offering Warrior Workshops, SAFEHeart Showings and/or Storytimes, One-on-One Product Demonstrations as well as Fundraisers. Coming Soon I will be combining with other small business to bring a Ladies Night Out at least one a month. Super Excited!!

My newest endeavor, I've opened a shop in the Galleria which features over 100 local little home based businesses. Authors, crafters, 3D printing, Johnstown themed apparel, holiday decor, and more. You are sure to see something new at every twist and turn as you walk through the shop. Plus there are Merchant Weekends, Ladies Night Outs, Creative Crafting Classes, Cookies & Kids, Fundraisers, Multi-Hostess Events, and more.

Looking forward to meeting new folks and working together with other businesses in the area,

Independent Damsel Pro 14950, Tina Cox

How We Got Started

Hello Folks,

I considered starting a Damsel business long before I actually did. Why? See I'm also a Craft/ Vendor Event Planner. Thus through my event planning I meet a wonderful Damsel Pro whom we became great friends. Then after a year she broke the news to me that she was moving to another state. Well, then and there I knew this area needed to have a Damsel in Defense Pro in this area. Thus I started my own business.

Being a Damsel Pro I have traveled 3+ hours plus to do events and provide for my clients. Damsel has granted me the opportunity to meet many fantastic people and to Empower many, whom have needed my services. Damsel products do truly protect people and their loved ones. My heart goes out to all of them. And I am so thankful I was able to help.

Looking forward to Teaching, Enlightening, Empowering and Equiping,

Tina

Wish I knew which ones will skim by doing the minimum to get by while co-workers pick up the neglected pieces and which are going to complete flake. For me, believe I am going to get more creative with my questions during the interview. Think outside the box. Plus, I'm going to trust my gut feelings.  Best of Luck to You!!

Working for big box companies made me realize that the all mighty dollar was valued the most important. Not the employee. Not the customer. Profit was the single biggest motivator. I found this so sad and motivated me to be self-employed. Yet, having a passion for my products, my mission and valuing my Clients as a whole, has permitted me to grow my home-based business.

And yes, we always do some kind of theme to make us stand out from other homes with costumes included. This year we are doing Hocus Pocus theme. Hence, all adults will receive a 'Keep Your Children Safe' handout with a Child Fingerprint Safety printout, link to print more and a life saver candy. Safety is my business and I want clients to know I truly value their safety.

I personally have not seen any growth in sales via paid advertising through social media groups, newspapers, nor via local event/ school sports handouts/ brochures. And yes, you an process credit cards while talking with someone on the phone too. Nice bonus is by referring others to square, you receive $1k free processing (or 3 months, whichever comes first).  If you process by 5pm, the payment is in your bank account the next business day (at least mine have always been there).  Thus if you decide on using square, see if any of your close friends, family or fellow networkers use square. Ask for their referral, and you both get $1k Free Processing (or 3 months). Heard to many stories from fellow networkers about Paypal siding with consumers without the regard to contracts, delivery and situation.  I only use PayPal for trusted friends and family now. Both give you a free basic reader for taking credit cards (to slid the card), then you pay for the chip reader. Square's chip reader is cheaper than PayPal's.  Best of Luck in whichever you choose.

I know it may be a cookie cutter question, yet it can tell so much about a person. For instance, is their first choice to compare themselves to others. Or is it to uplift themselves, thus separating themselves from others without demeaning. Is their self-worth a good fit for the job. Is he/ she going to be truly focused on the job. etc... Just a whole array of answers could come from this one question. And yes, always like to find out a bit about their background history as far as family and life. Though, also do not want to be too nosy as it is their personal life. Yet, do not want the wrong type of personality representing your company either. Best of Luck to All of You!! Be Safe!
