...based on a true story...
Once upon a time, there lived a girl who slept with a pair of scissors and a glue stick under her pillow. Wondering what the iguana in a photo from National Geographic would look like with a baseball in its mouth, she cut him out and glued him to a page of cardstock – and her lifelong love for the paperarts was born. It wasn’t long before she was making her own Christmas cards, finding the storebought ones lacking in creativity, personality, and charm.
Unfortunately, art fell to the wayside as our fair maiden entered college, her parents encouraging her to “get a degree that will help get you a good job.” Less practical than the journalism her folks favored, our heroine’s creative writing degree did come in handy as she started an editing business that morphed into a company that helps authors make brilliant, beautiful books that change the world for the better. Along the way, she became quite a marketing guru, a skill she still employs for her clients and herself.
As businesswomen are wont to do, this young collage artist cum book shepherd extraordinaire attended a business meeting where the facilitator asked a simple question: “How do you know you’ve won the day?” Her response was instant yet profound: “When I go to bed grateful.” Though gratitude had been one of her guiding life principles, in that moment, it jumped to the forefront of her focus.
The young lady went home and put her art and writing skills to work on a small, colorful book called The Gratitude Fairy, a tale that transcends age as it whispers to the hearts of both children and adults: GRATITUDE CHANGES EVERYTHING. Within its pages reside a chorus of background characters, the Gratitude Fairies, delicate miniature cut paper collages, who captivate the imagination and infuse gratitude into every soul who embraces this story.
As our heroine delved deeper into this enchanting world, she desired to share the magic of gratitude far and wide. Soon, however, she knew she wanted to share a broader message than just gratitude. An offhand remark, “Thank you fairy much,” paved a pathway for this expansion, birthing the name and purpose of her movement, her business, and her cherished Facebook group. What began as Club Gratitude morphed into FAIRY POSITIVE, a sanctuary of enchantment and positivity. The goal of this group, the heroine’s art, and her business is to offer solace and respite from the bustling worries of the world. Along the way, she adopted the self-moniker: Queen of Positivity.
Things took a bit of a turn when the queen’s king was forced to face a serious problem: his addiction to alcohol. Bu the king and queen were a team, so this wasn’t HIS problem – it was THEIR challenge, and they confronted it together. The thing that shifted everything for our royal couple was beginning a daily ritual that involves meditation, speaking their gratitudes and intentions, and truly connecting on a soul level. Through this process, they began to see the power and joy of trusting Source – what the Queen of Positivity calls leaning into the light. This daily practice has enabled the couple to walk their talk of authentic gratitude, focus on the positive, and manifest their goals in the most amazing ways.
The Queen of Positivity began sharing the couple’s appreciation for the grace they experienced by posting full-page collages every day in her Facebook group – the Gratitude Fairies now had scenes and backgrounds – adorned with profound sayings and gentle observations. Through a vibrant palette of whimsy, love, and joy, her art and messages exude positivity and encourage people to dance to the rhythm of life and lean into the light. Her artwork has graced book covers, festival posters, and ads for local businesses, weaving its charm into the very fabric of each community it touches.
FAIRY POSITIVE is not merely an artistic venture; it is an invitation to embrace joy, find solace in whimsy, and revel in the beauty of the present moment.
