Incorporate when the tax man is taking too much, or when you need to put more into your retirement, or when you need to retain good help with a better benefit package or when you want to spread the ownership. Get together with your accountant and calculate where you are now and where you want to be. If you are just looking for legal insulation, look at an LLC first, then address the above issues as needed.

Thanks, Steve. Good points. We don't have LLCs in Canada, but the rest of your reply is good advice.
