What Are Some Credit Card Processing Rates Better Than Square?
Answered by:
VJ Smith,
There is a lot of good commentary on here. Both, positive, negative and, some misleading.
Just to be honest and straightforward with you VJ, I'm the business marketing analyst with EVO payments. Im not here to sell or ask for your business. I just would like to give you some guidance.
The processing word is a competitive market. So, with that being said, there will always be a processer fighting for your business. But, it is up to you, the merchant to do your homework. So, consider this...
1st. Each year you should always have a merchant rate review with a competitive processor. Other than your current processer. The reason for this is, it keeps your current processor honest on what they promise you. Also, to see if your curent processer may have added hidden fees and rate increases.
2nd. I saw that someone in the thread stating on, going with a bank.
The reason most merchants go with their bank because, it's convenient. I get it... it's easy. Almost too easy. On a real note, it is actually illegal for banks to process (https://www.fdic.gov/regulations/laws/rules/8000-1... ). So, banks (the middle man) process through a main processer. Which means, more money going out the window and, less in your pocket.
3rd. Have your processer goes over your contract thoroughly, step by step.
Lastly, Make sure that your processer is there for you. Great customer service, 24 hour tech support, and a Account Manager you can call on.
