I agree! An accounting program like QuickBooks Online that affords you automation is really the best tool for this. There are tons of free resources that videos that can help you learn this application. We also offer customized training for QuickBooks Online if you prefer.

If you plan to keep up with it yourself then you need to make it as important as other tasks in your business. It is very easy to put off the bookkeeping work in place of other tasks, and then tax time rolls around and you have a big back-log of work. That makes it hard for you to manage. If you stay on top of it, then you have real-time useful data that can help you make the best decisions in your business.

We offer bookkeeping services and have used both QuickBooks Online and Xero. From our prior experiences, we now work exclusively use QuickBooks Online. I am not a fan of Xero and from what I understand, the issues I have with Xero are still the same and may continue to remain that way.
