Some attorneys advise their real estate broker clients to form a Sub-S Corp instead of an LLC. Some people have not found the protection they thought they had with an LLC. You really should consult an attorney as to which is better for you and the things to watch for.

The general answer is yes, but other things to consider are, what does your lease say, are there state laws or city ordinances that address this type of responsibility.

In addition to a particular company's policy, it probably depends on the particular state you are operating in. There is some variance between states. In general, in New Mexico, having a real estate license, or likely in the near future a property management certificate would be required.
