It has become a fantastic way to showcase their 'product' or representation of the 'service' they offer. It explains who the company is or even a reason to believe that you can trust the 'story' behind the Owner, CEO or President, as they describe their memoir/story (allowing the relationship between consumer and company to unfold) and how they rose to the occasion of actually building their organization. Many CEO's often use this type of 'calling card/book' during conferences, other types of speaking engagements and offer it as part of the sales training. Most use ghostwriters since they are not writers and do not have the time to write such a book.Amanda M. ThrasherProgressive Rising Phoenix Press

There are several ways to build reviews, and it is still something we all have to do (I tend to get busy with PRPP and neglect even my own). However, that said, you can use resources such as the directory I have posted that allows you to search people that review books by genre. http://melanierockett.com/dire...Also, since sending print books can become costly, you can send a copy of your PDF to your social media circles and ask for honest reviews. Once you have them back, the review, post and it often triggers a purchase. Leave a note underneath the review that you post and ask your fans/readers if they do purchase your book, please take a few minutes and review. Something as simple as that is all it takes to remind people that they are essential. Also, please don't discount your close circle reviewing those PDF's. They show social media followers that others care about your work. One used to be able to post on Amazon etc., but abuse prevents that now; I get it, makes sense to me, you do want real readers. Hope this helps.Amanda M. ThrasherProgressive Rising Phoenix Press

You could try a press release, enter an award competition (gives you something to announce), blog about it, give the book specifically to reviewers to drum up reviews (does not have to be a trade reviewer these days) and post the reviews on social media to help create buzz. Participate in an online book tour (several services organize those for authors). Join groups on social media that pertain to your genre; do not try to sell your book, simply discuss it. And of course, use social media to generate buzz. Hope this helps. Amanda M. Thrasher Progressive Rising Phoenix Press

(more) Being both a publisher and an author, I can honestly say this is something that is a neverending issue. Sales and marketing. However, that said, this an e-commerce world; that's good for books these days. We have found that generating buzz before release is advantageous to assisting with unit sales once the book goes live. Since your book is available globally, the buzz you create should include all of your niches online to ensure maximum exposure. Buzz prior to release can be as simple as review book parties, sharing excerpts, cover reveals, book giveaways, live interviews, and of course national press releases. The releases put out by the publisher or author are shared online and are often picked up overseas by online retailers. We use and like 24/7 PR Press Release. If your book is already live, you can still use some of the above suggestions. Press releases announcing the book or sharing a rave review, live interviews (as simple as FB live or other social media platforms) draw attention, book blog tours conducted online (several services organize those), a successful blog (which I am terrible at due to time). If you have funds available of your publisher is vesting in you, hiring a publicist whose role is to promote you and your work (many people think it is just the work), Smith Publicity is a great firm. http://www.smithpublicity.com/ Also, companies that market on your behalf, many authors invest in these services today, MEDIA CONNECT has an excellent reputation http://www.media-connect.com/services/index.html Hope this helps. Sounds crazy saying it out loud, but the business side of what I do, publishing, definitely deflates the creative energy of what I do as a writer/author. It is nearly impossible for me to work on my novel the days that I am in my office conducting PRPP (Progressive Rising Phoenix Press) business, which is more often than not daily. My writing time is valuable, so quality words are far more important to me than quantity. I never strive for word count, but I continually reach for 'richness' in the words that I produce. My novels, which I love to write, often deal with issues that teens deal with today, so I always hope to touch them with the messages entwined throughout the piece. Limited time, rich words, instead of scrapping them, helps me to do that. Amanda M. Thrasher Progressive Rising Phoenix Press
