I typically require a 50% up front fee then the remainder after the work is done. Even if a client is a slow-payer, I am at least covered for a portion of the work done. I would also have a conversation with that client -- on the phone, in person, via video -- to discuss payment and any recourse....

I think some entrepreneurs wear "busy" like it's a badge of honor. I think they need to focus on being effective. I am a firm believer in time-blocking for my business as it amps up my effectiveness (aka productivity although being productive doesn't always mean you're effective)

Do you have testimonials from former/current clients that speak to the high quality of care you provide the pet parents? I agree, it is always difficult when people want the lowest price, but still the highest quality.

I had this issue when I first started my business. Now, with every new client, I get a credit card on file and the contract states that my invoice is due within 10- days of my sending it and if payment isn't made (into my bank account -- I don't accept checks because it's too easy to get the...

Now, with every new client, I get a credit card on file and the contract states that my invoice is due within 10- days of my sending it and if payment isn't made (into my bank account -- I don't accept checks because it's too easy to get the "check is in the mail" conversation) On the morning of day 11 I charge the credit card on file.
We change ours at least monthly even though we don't have an Airbnb like you do, it's just safer and gives me peace of mind to do that.
