As a material supplier advice on use of materials & options are part of our free service, but if we have to supply warranty garenties and material life time paperwork as part of a bid we will, summit a reasonable bill to cover our cost.

Nothing beats personal contacts with customers, but social media can play a part in an integrated approach to reach out to potential new customers along with word of mouth ( recruit a few friends and customers to chime in with a recommendation )
