How We Got Started
I started my business, A Touch of Serenity, in Valparaiso in 2000. In 2005, I married and moved to Tennessee. After the death of my spouse and massage partner of eighteen years, I have returned to Indiana. I have chosen to rename my business, Serenity Restored to reflect both my own healing journey, but also that of my clients.

Direct sales fits very well with social distancing and shopping from home. It is a good feeling to be able to build on-line relationships and meet peoples needs. Multilevel marketing can be horrible if a particular company tries to do it backwards and sells the business model, but doesn't have...

Direct sales fits very well with social distancing and shopping from home. It is a good feeling to be able to build on-line relationships and meet peoples needs. Multilevel marketing can be horrible if a particular company tries to do it backwards and sells the business model, but doesn't have a good product line to sustain it. For us direct sales/mlm is what has kept us afloat during this time, and will carry us into retirement. Our focus is on education, support, retention, and sustainability. It doesn't hurt that the products we offer help to keep people healthy and happy.
When I finally raised prices after 15 years, I let regulars know it was coming. I also sent it out in an email. After the increase I let returning customers know when they called to book and again before doing the massage so there were no surprises. If I had it to do over again, I think I would...

After the increase I let returning customers know when they called to book and again before doing the massage so there were no surprises. If I had it to do over again, I think I would raise prices $1.00 every year instead of in a bigger jump.
Many are still learning the value of massage for a part of a healthy lifestyle; especially as a preventative service rather than as a last resort when they can’t stand the pain anymore.
