About Us
MARBIDCO is a quasi-governmental economic development agency that provides financing to young and beginning farmers and other enterprises looking to start or expand food/fiber production or processing operations in the agricultural, forestry, and seafood industries. MARBIDCO also facilitates farmland conservation easement purchases using its Next Generation Farmland Acquisition Program. Please visit www.marbidco.org.
How We Got Started
MARBIDCO was created by the Maryland State General Assembly in 2004 and began funding the financing agency in 2006. For 15 years we have been supporting Maryland's food, forest, and fiber industries via low-interest loans and grants.
