As Appraisers we do not keep stats or have any reason to have an interest in changes statistically as we appraise it all and have to be concerned with the market for any individual home at a given time, at its time of transfer. The answer Alan Trauger gave is in keeping with the information our trade newsletter has indicated. New construction would be a better indicator of how builders are meeting current market demands with the newer styles/designs.

My husband was a retired Lt Col from the Army when I married him and he had chosen appraising as his second career and had his own business as well as teaching appraising in a local college. I had just completed a paralegal degree but liked what he did and decided to go into business with him. He has since retired and my son has been my partner for the last 14 years. We are a close family and we love what we do.
So many insightful and philosophical answers which indicates it means different things depending upon the type of business you have. For our business, Busy means we have work. Not busy means we don't. Needless to say we are happiest when we can say we are Busy. :)
