As a promotional marketing person, I prefer promotional products because it is a very direct way of getting your name out to the people who you are in contact with. If they are already interested, you can leave them with a great impression of your business. If you give them a product they are impressed with, they will remember where it came from and will be willing to give that referral. Have you ever got a promotional item you loved and used? Or over got an item you thought was cheesy and threw it away somewhere? Promotional products leave an existing impression. It does not have to be expensive but has to be useful. It is a very sighted marketing tool. I rarely read or listen to ads of any sort.
