About Us

I have been creating images of people for over 45 years that enhance the images of those who participate in their experience with me to look their absolute best. Please see my website: www.realphotography.us for more information. I have also added the creation of images of homes and interiors to my services for the real estate profession.

How We Got Started

My life in photography began forty five + years ago when folks began asking me to create photos for them - primarily musicians and dancers and eventually, just about all kinds of people.

I don't, I begin by telling a story about what I have done that benefited someone (keeping it short), and finish with my name and the name of my business. Can you tell what I do just from my photo? Although portraiture is my bread and butter and I really love doing it, I am always looking around and almost always actually see something else I want to photograph - sometimes I have to make a note so I can come back later. There are so many things to see that utilizing my eyes always gives me a lift.

Being a photographer, I keep educating business people about the marketing benefits from having a professional create positive images of themselves and their products - when they listen, I often get clients. If you don't mind seeming to be an absolute inarticulate and uneducated kind of person it's not important at all. If you want to communicate as any kind of professional in your business, having good grammar and spelling and even punctuation are essential. This doesn't mean using big words where lesser ones will suffice, but it does mean communicating clearly and effectively to everyone to whom you want to get anything across. I always proofread anything I send via email or in print to everyone. Mistakes of that nature do not put you high on the list of good communicators - an occasional typo won't get you into trouble with prospective customers or vendors, but sloppy grammar and bad spelling won't help you at all. (It helped to have an English Teacher for a mother way back.)
