About Us

With Alison having worked in the industry for 3+ years, gaining experience in Life Insurance and Retirement Planning she has now added Personal Lines – Auto and Home to her background. Having spent majority of her career in retail and tech management, Allison made her leap over to insurance to help those plan for what they hope are obstacles they never have to face and not be prepared for. May not sound very interesting for most people, but for Allison this is a passion that she truly enjoys doing. Most recently her work has landed her with Steven at his agency, guess you could say she is living her dream.
When Allison is not at work you can find her at boxing classes, running Town Lake, reading a book, watching movie – her all time favorite movie is Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

How We Got Started

Farmers Insurance - Steven Adams Agency began out of Steven himself wanting to make a change from Medical Device Sales to a career that would allow him more time with his children and less time on the traveled roads (or flying). Steven had been approached by Farmers in becoming an Agency Owner, somthing that never really was thought upon by Steven. After taking time to think it over Steven jumped in, received his licenses, found a great location just across from The Domain and hence began the Farmers Insurance - Steven Adams Agency. Best decison he knows he made.

Rate increases are governed by State Legislature/Insurance Branch, so for those that would like to see decreases needs to reach out to their legislator and become a vocal outcry to the increases that are happening, but as well, be armed with more than just my rates increased/went up.  Do the research as to why and what factors lie in place for the valuations that are used to determine rates.  Too, some companies are very conservative in their rates for they pay out on their claims - ways of reason to keep their clients, but hinder as well due to the increase.

(more) I'm sure you have been given great advice, so I'll provide you with what has helped me and you can gather together all the little bits you have received to help you along the way. 1 - Know your product inside and out.  Benefite/Features on how it works and why. 2 - Know your client: this can be tricky for your client can either be a family member (to which you may have never had this type of conversation with before and it's new territory to go down) or your best friend (same scenario).  You will be asking questions that may make the other feel very uncomfortable, but setting the expectations early on and walk them through your processes, the ease of that conversation will not seem so paramount. 3 - As mentioned above, your client again can be from a call you made from a leads list or someone you met out and about one day and you handed off your card.  Once they are in your office and are comfortable, again set your agenda on what you are going to be going over based on your previous discussion of their needs and wants and what they are hoping to accomplish in the first meeting. Listen to your client/friend/family member for again Life Insurance is not a conversation that one will normally have on a daily basis.  Realize that again there will be questions that they may not feel comfortable in answering, but have them be involved in the entire process, remember, THEY are going to be the ones making the decision on the best product you offer that will benefit them in the long run, you are just 'guiding' them there and along the way.  You will not want to be the one making the decision for them just to get the commission. Make your calls daily, set your schedule that plans out your day and be wise on how you spend your time during the day i.e. dials/meetings (times), networking effectively, follow up on those you have scheduled to make sure that the meeting will still happen and if for some reason it needs to be moved/rescheduled, fill in that time with another appointment.  It is a numbers game: 10 appts/per week - 5 will hold - 2-3 will write.  Have your month booked with 40 appts a month, 10 policies per month and you will be hitting your goals every week and month. Keep your head up and good luck.

Don't just get the sale and forget about them.  When touching base even if on an annual basis, ask how they are, how's their family doing, what's changed in the last year are there any changes that need to be made to the type of offering you started with, in my case Life Insurance.  I as well work with Personal Lines and KNOW that our customers are going to shop as they should to help them in saving money, but the MOST IMPORTANT PIECE is - CUSTOMER SERVICE.  Show you care about 'Them' and not JUST their business.  Being personable and building that personal relationship with your clients will forever go a long way.

As well - after the 2 year contest period, there is not really any need to have that in question.  It would be if within the 2 year contest period (more) As well - after the 2 year contest period, there is not really any need to have that in question.  It would be if within the 2 year contest period
