Considering publishing your book? If so, by now you’ve read all the negative comments. First, about all the con-merchants just waiting to cheat you with glory messages and unreasonable fees. Also, about how only mainstream publishers may publish your book if they believe it will sell. Certainly, if one of those publishers is interested in your book, it can be a good thing. However, publishing is a business and publishers usually publish books to profit from sales. There are charities that publish books for a good cause and the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials published my first book to assist housing programs across the country. I didn’t get paid for writing it, but I got valuable publicity.
I’ve been a publisher since 2007 when I published my wife Barbara’s first book, Like I Used To Dance. It’s a brilliant book with a long list of excellent reviews, but no publisher would accept it. I had published some books for government housing programs in the seventies and eighties and expanded my skills and published her book. The publishing arm of Amazon was called Createspace then. The book was good and so was Barbara, who had quite a few book signings. After that, I published two more books for her, including Lottie’s Adventure, a children’s chapter book and Shadow’s Way, an excellent mystery.
After those, I wrote and published a half dozen books of my own and became quite proficient at publishing. I wrote and published another book titled Self Publishing Simplified: A Simple, Proven Method For Writing and Self Publishing Your Book.
Besides Barbara’s books and mine, I’ve published over sixty books for other authors. Except for a couple of books published for charity, most authors paid me to publish their book. Most of those appear at https://billspositivebooks.com for anyone to check out. These books should be subject to good and bad reviews like any other, but who pays for the publication should not be the main point of such reviews.
I help authors to get published in a step-by-step process. Once they contract me, if they don’t already have an Amazon account, I help them set up one. I encourage deep editing and then I format the book for Kindle, Paperback, and Hardcover. I either create, assist or hire an artist for the cover and then I publish and order up to three proofs. Once proofreading is complete, I publish the book. Then I create a website to serve as a sales page, author bio, a chapter or two to stir interest in the book and other information the author would like to share.
Over the years, authors have found my services honest, caring, and valuable. Unlike those who insist on labeling us vanity publishers and believe that only traditional publishers should be in the publishing business, I intend to keep helping authors to get published. You can learn more about my publishing business without obligation by calling me at 512-217-4803 or email at billbenitez@gmail.com. Thanks.
More than fifteen years ago my wife Barbara wrote a beautiful children's chapter book entitled Lottie's Adventure. Unfortunately, traditional publishers were not interested in publishing it. After a couple of rejection notices, I decided to help her by publishing Lottie's Adventure myself. I had learned how to publish books and hired an artist to create the cover. Then I published and it turned out to be a lovely book that sold quite a few copies. It's still available on Amazon and I continued publishing books for Barbara and then many other authors over the years. Now publishing books is my full-time business. I look forward to hearing from you at 512-217-4803 for a free consultation.
