BLANK PAGE CONSULTING offers personalized coaching programs for writers of all levels who want to complete their writing project. I also offer group coaching programs for those who believe that they would benefit from the input of others in addition to my guidance, encouragement and technical assistance.
How We Got Started
I have been a copywriter, entertainment journalist, celebrity ghostwriter, creative essayist and novelist for most of my life. As a ghostwriter, it struck me that I was actually doing a disservice to my clients who had entrusted me with their books (which was a great honor, by the way). However, as I dug deep into their stories, I realized that a writer must tell their own story to make it come alive. And, that most writers don't BELIEVE that they can do it. I want to honor the courage of writers who have stories to tell by offering my unwavering supporting, guidance, technical assistance and giving them the gift of time and structure and a framework with which they can write, freely.

Additionally, I have taken on doing creative writing workshops via zoom which I hope will increase visibility amongst writers who may consider taking on a writing project and someday may consider getting a coach.

Robin, the great news is that you can identify when your mood is not the best. Your honesty and self awareness are half the battle. It is helpful to step away from what you are doing and rediscover what motivates you. The time away from the task at-hand will let you have new eyes when you return....

If you have an appointment but feel that you wont be your best, reschedule, take the time you need to re-set. Both you and your customers will benefit.

I agree with the answers you have gotten so far, but I would wonder about how you can build a reputation for being an author instead of a real estate agent, if that is what you desire. I would suggest a total re-branding of yourself and your books would help: strong promotion of your existing books, and a big push on your next book. Since you are a Christian, there are unlimited opportunities with that audience. I would suggest that your next book be very targeted to your audience, written in a unique way that stands out from the others. Do you have a website and a blog??? I have had an amazing exerience with Melaleuca products. I, of course, was also approached to sell it. For any person who has another entrepreneurial endeavor, I would not suggest you take this on unless you can commit a lot of time to finding and cultivating new customers. It is true the products are AMAZING but the minimal order is quite expensive and it's a very hard sell. I tried. I am just happy that they are available on AMAZON and I can get all the Mela gel that I want!

As far as writing testimonials go, a shallow testimonial is not as helpful as one written from experience...so I suggest we all try to really work with each other!

As a coach working with writers, it is important that I model the joy and transformation that comes from writing. My joy will come from watching my clients find their own voices and accomplishing something awesome!
I do not think that the word "mistake" should be in your VPS at all. It draws attention to the negative which is always a no-no. I prefer #2 with the mistake part.

I started my business because I love words! As a copywriter and journalist, my creative side has always been my strongest asset. Although I have been an executive in a creative setting (The Record Industry) I felt restricted to be my most creative self and so it became clear that I would be the greatest gift to my clients if I were on my own and able to offer creative solutions without restrictions. I love what I do and am geared up to return to my true love of creating marketing language and concepts. Although I have spent many years writing books for others, Blank Page Consulting is the Coaching side of my business where I coach writers who want to write. I feel that I can be much more of an asset as a support and a guide about the mechanics of writing instead of letting them go the "easy route" - asking me to write their story. Writing is an act of bravery and commitment. It is an achievement that can propel anyone to see their best self. I want to be your witness.
