Lighting the Path Enterprises is a nonprofit organization with a mission to empower marginalized populations. We work with immigrants and refugees to educate, train and assist them to open a small enterprise to support themselves and their families. We help them evaluate their needs and skills and develop an empowerment plan to meet needs and build a sustainable enterprise to help them raise their standard of living. We make sure their cultural differences are respected, work to build self esteem and self reliance, trouble shoot and business difficulties and support them with love and friendship in this new intimidating life they find themselves in.

The nonprofit was started out of the desire to help women in Africa who were struggling in poverty. It has helped hundreds of women get on their feet, pay for their children to have food, medication and obtain an education. We are currently building a school in Burkina Faso, West Africa to meet needs there. We saw these same needs in refugees coming to our city and expanded to the St. Louis region where we are based.
