I do a complimentary (20-30 minutes) Ready to Retire Assessment with prospects. They get value from it and I get an appreciation if they have my ideal client profle.  If we are a good fit, we press on with a fee-for-service financial planning agreement.  If not, they got some valuable insight into their retirement readiness which they can use to pursue their own solutions or work with another advisor.
