Depends on the problem whether I go to natural or traditional treatments. I usually try to go natural first unless it is more uncomfortable (painful) to wait for natural treatments to kick in (thinking UTI's here). I much prefer to find a natural cure/treatment for problems. (more) Depends on the problem whether I go to natural or traditional treatments. Wondering if the client will follow instructions properly. I found I have to make things simple and easy as well as taking very little time. Otherwise the client will not do as instructed. You end up working for only about $10-$15 an hour...really not worth your time or money. And once you get them in the door you lose your regular customers because they cannot get in to see you or their favorite therapist who is now only getting $15 instead of the $60 or more they would normally get. Once you start with Groupon, it is hard to quit...they make it hard on purpose. I suggest you think carefully before committing to this kind of discounted service. You might try offering discounts through your local paper or on-line. Bring in a coupon for X dollars off a regular massage.

Here in Oregon I just called and asked for the mailing address for claims and what they required for them to pay me. Nothing special was indicated and they paid quicker than regular insurance companies.  (more) Here in Oregon I just called and asked for the mailing address for claims and what they required for them to pay me. You should have all that information assembled and well written. Give them a couple weeks or even a month before you raise your rates to give them time to adjust. You can also tell each client as they come to see you that as of such and such a date you will be raising the rate to whatever it will be. Making sure you do both to keep people from saying they didn't know about the rate hike. You can also post a note on the door of your office or by the front desk or somewhere people will see it stating the above.

A Masseur is a male massage therapist. A Masseuse is a female massage therapist. We do not use those terms any more because they add connotations of "happy endings" to the massage. I add $30 to my base rate for gas and expenses. If the client is further away from where you want to go, add $40. (more) I add $30 to my base rate for gas and expenses. If the client is further away from where you want to go, add $40.
