Your town or city should have an art council. They give out grants for certain art projects. If your documentary has a benefit to society you may have a shot at a grant. There is a lengthy application and you will be dealing with a government agency so don't expect a quick turnaround.

I have found that honesty is the best way to deliver bad news to a client. If you try to cover your mistakes with lies and your client finds out the truth (and they almost always do) then you have damaged your own reputation. That old saying "honesty is the best policy", still applies. I am not a fan of patronizing clients, they will see right through it and then you have insulted their intelligence and have damaged your reputation even more. Give it to them straight then offer a way to fix the issue.

First I suggest a mutually agreed on public place but ultimately I try to have them come to my photography studio. This is where most of the magic happens and the place where they can view my photography work. My consultation meeting room is a comfortable place to meet.

Finding people to hire on facebook is possible but you need to have certain criteria to follow.
