How We Got Started
I taught children for 32 years, but always had a "sixth sense" helping people. After I learned Reiki in 1996, I decided to try a metaphysical business and in 2000, I did it! Teaching is second nature and I love helping people find their path. I enjoy mentoring people and seeing their faces as they rediscover their inner light.

I think it's wonderful if you can afford to have such a business model. When I started my business, my services were very inexpensive, but I actually got more business when I raised my prices. For some, I do charge less or offer free services, which is my way to balance things.

Nothing worse than pushing Christmas in October. Instead I have a special I post up in Novemeber that I keep until year’s end (Reiki bundle if 3)

Good service brings them back. I also use Getresponse mailers, which work well for me, and Eventbrite for events. Other people do a better job of advertising than I do, but word of mouth is the best way I've stayed in business.

It depends where I network. I attended a Small Business event in NY and it wasn't helpful to my business. Small local events are always the best way to find customers.

I list my e-mail on my web site rather than my cell phone. Most of my business is word of mouth. If a client comes to me, I always give a second card and ask them to pass it along.

In person networking is the best way for future clients to feel comfortable purchasing a service or class from me. I enjoy public speaking, being a former teacher who loves a captive audience. I like stepping into business groups to ask questions and get ideas from other people. Two local people...

In person networking is the best way for future clients to feel comfortable purchasing a service or class from me. I enjoy public speaking, being a former teacher who loves a captive audience. I like stepping into business groups to ask questions and get ideas from other people. Two local people mentioned this site to me months back. I also help other businesses and give their card out or suggest their service. There's enough for all, so I don't believe in competition with each other, rather cooperation and support.
